The browser demo re-encodes the export, so the downloaded copy carries no EXIF data. Exports are capped at 2400 px on the long edge. On iPhone, Veil checks the result again before you save or share.
What it does
The visible details, and the ones hidden in the file.
Cover what's private
Veil finds faces, QR codes, barcodes, and supported text, then lets you review and cover them. Draw over anything it misses.
Remove hidden metadata
GPS location, device details, and capture time are stripped from a new copy. The original photo stays untouched.
Check it again
The result is reviewed before you save or share, with a zoomable preview of the final image.
Pick. Cover. Save.
Three steps, all on your device.
Pick a photo
From your library or the camera. The photo is read on your device and nothing is uploaded.
Cover what's private
Review what Veil suggests, then add boxes for anything it missed. Choose solid, blur, or pixelate.
Save a clean copy
Pixels are rewritten, metadata is removed, and a new file is saved. The original stays untouched.

Questions and answers.
Does Veil upload my photos?
No. Detection, drawing, and export all run on your device. The app does not send photos to a server, and there is no account or cloud library.
What can it detect?
Faces, QR codes, barcodes, and supported sensitive text such as phone numbers and addresses. Detection can miss things — always review the result before you share it, and add boxes manually where needed.
Does it remove GPS and other metadata?
Yes. Veil saves a new copy and re-encodes it, removing GPS location, device information, and capture time. The original photo is not modified.
What is free, and what does Lifetime add?
Black solid redaction, metadata removal, saving, and sharing are free. Lifetime Access adds the other cover styles and colors, and removes support prompts. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Can I redact several photos at once?
Not yet. Veil works one photo at a time so each result can be reviewed before it is saved.
Does it work on iPad? What about older iOS versions?
Veil runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Older versions of iOS are not supported.
Which languages are supported?
English and Simplified Chinese. The app follows your system language.
Ready when you are.
